when did you first start dating and looking back, do you feel like it was too early/too late for you? why/why not?

Morning all. I didn't really do proper relationships for a long time. Had some on and offs but my first real full on relationship was in my early to mid twenties (and is still going, married)

My first relationship was when I was 14 😅 looking back, although everyone else was also doing the same, I still think it was a little too early to be dealing with that kind of emotional connection.

But I wouldn't change it tbh, I only have good memories from that relationship and good feelings towards him and we're still friends to this day. Can't say the same about the ones that followed 😂

Saaame! It was the summer before high school for me. Lasted two years. Minus the friends part....haven't spoken to him in over 15 years!

I was interested in girls romantically from a very young age, but my parents didn’t allow me to truly “date” until I was like 15. By then I was behind the ball and was sort of awkward when it came to expressing myself in any kind of romantic way. I dated, but didn’t enter any kind of real “relationship” until I was 21 with an acquaintance that I fell madly in love with. It was more like a fling that lasted four months, but I loved her as much as I’ve ever loved anyone. When that ended I was heartbroken. I kept on casually dating until I had my first adult relationship at 25. That ended after a year and I went right back to casually dating. I did that till I was 34 when I entered a roughly year long relationship that ended just a few months ago. And here I am, a 35 year old man reminiscing about the two and a half relationships I’ve had in my life.

Mine was 14 I think, too. Just over a year. Cute teen love that was very deep and ended abruptly. She was hit by a car and I vowed revenge on the world for years, which I then enacted 😂. All seems so long ago now you never think it would seem that way.

I had my first relationship when I was 22. I ended up marrying too. Our relationship lasted 11 years. I think in the beginning it was healthy and then it became increasingly unhealthy.Looking back on it, I was with him because he was the first decent person who wanted to be in a relationship with me. I'm not sure if he was right for me. We didn't share a lot of interests or values or life philosophies.I'm sad I didn't have any relationships in high school or college. I had a lot of crushes, but no one was interested in having a relationship with me.I'm now on my 3rd relationship. I'm 36. I think what makes this one different is we have a lot in common. I rejected a lot of people to be with him.
