Pinky Promise dubs itself an online community to explore, heal, and express your sexuality. They offer a variety of workshops and classes around the topics of kink, relationships, sensuality, and movement as well as host events through which they hope to create spaces that promote free and authentic self-expression. This review will be limited to discussing the in-person events rather than their online platform.
Pinky Promise held its launch party on the 29th of February, 2020–almost exactly 2 years ago. That first event was successfully sold out but as the pandemic hit, they had to pivot online–as LVRSNFRNDS also had to do once the world closed up. They held other events up until July of 2020 before coming to a complete halt after their November 2020 event “The Castle in the Clouds” got cancelled.
You don't need to be a member of Pinky promise to attend their in-person events. However, they do offer a membership (for £15/month), which grants discounts on all their events.
Before their comeback event (Jan 29, 2022), Pinky Promise shared a Pinterest board aligning with their theme to inspire people. In the same post announcing the board, they state that “our costume policy is simply dress to express! We do state that no effort means no entry. No casual streetwear will be permitted in our party.”
This statement evokes an earlier discourse on dress codes and their potentially problematic nature discussed under a certain party organizer’s IG post *cough* Crossbreed *cough*, and we ask you: how do you feel about dress codes? We would love to hear from you!
You can also find a collection of images from their previous events on the gallery, which can give you a general idea of what is expected of an attendee.
Okay, now, onto what we’re here for. After a 1+ year halt, Pinky Promise came back on January 19, 2022, and our member buddied up to go there! Below you can find their unfiltered, unedited, and honest reviews of the event.
It seems like this was a strong comeback for Pïnky Promise as this recent event has also been sold out so we can definitely expect more from them in the months to come. For the most part, the hype is not for nothing as our members have given it the thumbs up (apart from issues at the door that have since been addressed by the organizers and questionable music picks that are a complete matter of taste). If you've seen some of our other reviews, you'll know that this is quite the big thing!
